During our epic Northern Europe tour from 2024 to 2025, we were in Berlin over Christmas. Fearing we’d struggle to find a place to eat on Christmas Eve, we jumped on the chance to book a popular restaurant before we even left Australia!
Beef Grill Club
While searching for restaurants open on Christmas Eve – a day when most Germans are enjoying family time – we stumbled upon the Beef Grill Club by HASIR in Titanic Gendarmenmarkt Hotel. Knowing it would be in high demand, Bianca quickly locked in a reservation weeks ahead of time.
When we arrived, we were blown away by how much more than just a steakhouse this place was – it was a full-on five-star experience! A concierge greeted us at the door, helping us with our jackets and leading us to our table in the dimly lit, elegant restaurant. The atmosphere was sophisticated, with every guest impeccably dressed. Though we didn’t stand out in our cold-weather gear, we couldn’t help but feel a bit underdressed in comparison!
Menu
The menu was refreshingly simple—just steak. They offered wagyu and top-quality cuts, with some steaks even available in 1.2kg portions. We kicked things off with carpaccio and steak tartare, as we usually do. The meat was incredibly tender and full of flavour. For the main course, I went for the Lokum Tournedos, while Bianca chose the Ladies Cut. When our plates arrived, the waiter brought over a towering, meter-long pepper grinder and began freshly grinding pepper for us. It was a spectacle that had everyone entertained!
