Adventures always need to include good food, and before we visited one of Adelaide’s winter events, we wanted some excellent food. We booked Sosta Argentinian Kitchen for dinner, on a normal Thursday night.
Sosta is famous for meat, and they have a display refrigerator to show the cuts of steak. We decided instead to choose from the menu to have the “Sosta Platter” that included two courses for $59 per person.
Other options on the menu include a wide tapas selection, a braised goat dish, paella and seafood dishes. Every dish is hearty and it is not the restaurant to choose if you want something delicate.
The first course of our selected Sosta Platter included fried calamari, empanadas and mushrooms. As I do not like seafood, they allowed me to substitute the calamari for some chorizo that was available as an individual tapas dish.
The main course was wood fired grilled chicken, with scotch fillet. We chose to add the Gorgonzola sauce, and to have our green salad with chimchuri sauce.
Daniel noticed a scotch fillet steak that he had his eyes on, and decided to order a la carte instead of join in the platter. As he is a growing 17 year old, he also helped out finish off the platter too. His steak was just as succulent and tender as the platter, and he selected a mushroom sauce as his accompaniment, and skipped selecting anything ‘green’. The scotch fillet was 300gm, and he could have chosen the 500gm T-bone for $50.
We were very well serviced by the waitress, who ensured that we were looked after, keeping our wine topped off and answering all of our questions.
We will return later to enjoy the wide selection of the menu.
