Adelaide Brunch Dining – Bloom Cafe

It was my daughter’s 23rd birthday and we were having trouble finding time to catch up when she suggested a boozy brunch. What a great idea! She chose Bloom Cafe in Thebarton. I had never heard of it – and we found it tucked away at the end of a side street. It turns out this is Adelaide’s best kept brunch secret (although it was recently recommended by the “date night Adelaide” Instagram page, so maybe not so secret anymore). Bloom serves all day breakfast and lunch in a converted horse tram barn overlooking the River Torrens. Very cool.

Of course you can come here and have your ordinary breakfast, lunch or brunch. But for a bit of fun, why not make it boozy? For 90 minutes you can drink as much from their Boozy Brunch menu as you can manage. We chose the cocktails, both of which were equally delicious.

The food was divine, but beware, some dishes are huge! We saw a burger being taken to another table. It looked fantastic but I swear it was the biggest burger I have ever seen. There is no way I could have eaten it all. So we elected to order a few smaller things and share them. Make sure you try the haloumi! You will not regret it. Their hashbrown is super unique, and made onsite. It is thick and covered in parmesan – so good!

Wood fired halloumi, honey, pine nuts; Potato hash, black pepper aioli, aged parmesan; Lost Loaf fruit toast, Pepe Saya butter

The vibe here was fantastic, and the staff were not only attentive but also helpful. We had a wonderful time and we will return. Happy Birthday Savannah!
